Phillip S. Green, President and Founder
Mr. Phillip S. Green
As President and Founder of Green Powered Technology (“GPTech”), Phillip Green brings more than 20 years of energy and infrastructure project leadership experience, with a focus on engineering management, strategic planning, continuous process improvement, renewable energy research, infrastructure procurement, and U.S. national policy. Motivated by his passion to make green technologies accessible to everyone, Phillip founded GPTech in 2010 to bring this vision to life. While serving as an engineer officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, and a after deployment to Afghanistan, Phillip led GPTech to win its first contract in 2013, setting the foundation for GPTech to land a $90,000 project, a $1 million project, and then a $600 million Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, leading to over $188 million in awarded contracts.
Since its inception, Phillip has led GPTech to become a reliable partner in the U.S. Government’s efforts to help emerging markets embrace renewable, green technologies and develop infrastructure in support of sustainable development.
Prior to founding GPTech, Phillip researched green products, such as LEDs and solar cells. He had become fascinated with these technologies during post-undergraduate studies in Japan, where he conducted research and worked alongside scientists leading the way on blue LED innovations. With this experience in hand, Phillip saw the need for a sustainable energy solution worldwide. Armed with two Master degrees and an interest in making a living from doing good in the world, starting GPTech was a natural progression.
Phillip has served on Virginia’s Offshore Wind Development Authority, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee, and the U.S. Trade Representative’s Trade Advisory Committee on Africa. He has been recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change: Veterans Advancing Clean Energy and Climate Security.
Phillip received a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and also in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Phillip is also a Certified Energy Manager.
When not working, Phillip enjoys exploring technology, spending time with his family and friends and occasionally going on a run or bike ride.
