Krystle Austin, Director of Business Development

Krystle Austin has 15 years of experience working in business development both internationally and domestically. She has led strategic proposal and capture efforts for U.S. Government, bilateral, corporate, foundation, and individual clients, including the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Johnson and Johnson, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and Japan International Cooperation Agency. At GPTech, Krystle is the Director of Business Development. In this role, she oversees business development and communications activities, with a focus on developing GPTech’s pipeline, building and maintaining relationships with clients and partners, coordinating with internal practice areas to develop high-quality proposals and marketing materials, providing training and resources on business development, and leading strategic communications and marketing.  

Prior to joining GPTech, Krystle worked in business development across several sectors, including agriculture and resilience, maternal and child health, humanitarian assistance, and education, with a particular focus on West Africa. Most recently, she was Director of Proposal Management at Creative Associates, where she led strategic business development efforts globally in education, communities in transition, and economic growth for U.S. Government clients. Previous roles include Director of Business Development in Resilience and Growth at ACDI/VOCA and Proposal Officer at Jhpiego. Krystle lived and worked in Burkina Faso for seven years, where she was a Peace Corps volunteer and worked for Friends of African Village Libraries and the World Food Program.

Krystle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Law and Society, and Mathematics (minor) from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She has professional proficiency in French. In her free time, Krystle enjoys hiking, going to plays and musicals, spending time with her daughter and pets, and reading.
