Project Description:

USAID’s Power Africa brings together the collective resources of the private sector, international development organizations, and governments from around the world to increase energy access and end energy poverty in sub-Saharan Africa. Power Africa’s goal is to bring electricity to 300 million people by increasing the current power capacity of sub-Saharan Africa by 30,000 megawatts and creating 60 million new or improved connections by 2030. The Power Africa Coordinator’s Office (PACO) designs and implements activities to increase energy access in sub-Saharan Africa. Power Africa Communications Services (PACS) provides event planning services and social media support.

Through the PACS contract, GPTech manages and produces a wide range of information products, including infographics, reports, fact sheets, blogs, videos, and photos. GPTech provides its communication services by developing and executing a strategic communications plan that furthers PACO’s goal on the continent.

Goals & Achievements:

Through PACS, GPTech has produced more than 400 fact sheets, 20 videos, and thousands of curated photos for use across Power Africa channels. Some of the highlights include the high-quality production of Power Africa’s annual reports (three completed to date); a communications guide to support task orders and implementing partners; launching Power Africa’s Healthcare Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance; developing content for the launch of Power Africa’s Clean Tech Energy Network, and supporting Power Africa’s participation at Enlit Africa and the Africa Energy Forum.
