Project Description:

GPTech, in partnership with Planet Partnerships, provided expert advice and technical oversight to the MCC for the Benin Off-Grid Clean Energy Facility (OCEF). The GPTech team provided requisite expertise in off-grid technologies and infrastructure, environmental and social performance, health and safety, gender and social inclusion, grants administration, and other due diligence and program management to MCC in this oversight capacity. GPTech helped MCC ensure that Benin OCEF-related funds were spent in accordance with the MCC Benin Compact requirements and other MCC policies and due diligence standards. GPTech’s overarching role was to serve as an advisor to MCC to help manage and mitigate risks to the OCEF activity timeline, budget, and expected results.

Goals & Achievements: 

  • Reviewed feasibility studies and other technical documents for approved projects.

  • Provided strategic advice and technical oversight support to MCC.

  • Supported monitoring of facility operations.

  • Supported oversight of grant performance monitoring.
